First, a few basic points: I do custom work only and each and every period garment I make is different. I do not keep a large inventory of fabrics, as I prefer to purchase these for each individual project. Making an exact replica of a garment I made some time ago may not always be possible depending on the availability of fabrics. This being said, I can usually find similar fabrics that will do the job (and sometime better than the original!).

All my doublets and jerkins are fully lined – usually with pre-washed cotton or linen – and include an inside left breast pocket. These are well-contructed garments that will stand the test of time, not your typical garden-variety eBay costumery.

The prices for a man's outfit can range widely, depending on the style, ornamentation, choice of fabrics, amount of fabric needed (depending on size) etc. Unless desired otherwise, I make the doublets with grommets and laces at the sides, which allows for seasonal fluctuations in a man's waistline and to make room after a hearty meal and a few ales! Likewise, my paned slops (the so-called "pumpkin breeches") and my Venetian pantaloons are similarly adjustable by means of grommets and laces at the back.

This being said...

A simple sleeveless, fully lined doublet (or jerkin), all made of the same fabric, starts at $350:

(shirt not included)

Add multiple tabs at the waist ($50) and detachable sleeves ($200) and it goes to $600. Slashed sleeves are more expensive:
Make it of 2 or more matched & centered coordinated fabrics and it is $700:
Adding corded trim around all edges and seams adds another $100 to the bill, to a total of $800:
Other options include hidden pockets in waist tabs, hidden side grommets and laces, looped cord buttons versus regular buttonholes, or metal clasps closures, embroidery, beading and other embellishments.

Pricing will vary on a case-by-case basis.

Speaking of trim, the Tudor Long Doublet has a lot of detailing and trim, and ranges between $800 and $1,200:
