After leaving ceramics and while establishing myself in California, I started to explore the possibilities that paper could offer to me as a medium. Paper embossing, paper sculpting and, more importantly, Origamic Architecture -- as developed by Mr. Chatani -- presented a challenge I could hardly resist.

These took the form of one-of-a-kind tableaux, as seen above, or were part of a series of illustrations for children's book projects.

I plan to execute a few more pieces of paper sculpture later this year. The pieces presented here were created during the late 1980s and early 1990s.
